Die Duathlon- Langdistanz-Weltmeisterin Merle Brunnée am 10. April 2022 beim POWERMAN Alsdorf an den Start gehen. Merle hat uns folgende Worte geschrieben: 

Ich bin Merle, Ärztin am Uniklinikum in Heidelberg und ich habe in den letzten Jahren das Laufen und Radfahren für mich entdeckt und den Sport in den letzten Jahren immer ambitionierter verfolgt. Zunächst habe ich bei reinen Stadtläufen hin und wieder Wettkampfluft geschnuppert, dann einem (Lauf-) Verein beigetreten, mir kurz danach ein Rennrad zugelegt, einem Triathlon- und einem Radsportverein beigetreten, Rennlizenzen beantragt und schnell gemerkt: Das macht riesen Spaß! Ich habe meine Kilometer im Odenwald rund um meine Wahlheimat Heidelberg, aber auch in den Pyrenäen, in den Schweizer Alpen und auch virtuell auf Zwift gesammelt. Die ersten Triathlons kamen dazu und 2020 dann auch mein erstes Einzelzeitfahren und mein erster Powerman – die Langdistanz-Weltmeisterschaft in Zofingen im September. Dieser Tag wird für mich unvergesslich bleiben und ich kann mich mit Stolz Langdistanz-Duathlon-Weltmeisterin 2020 nennen. Ich freue mich, nun auch meine erste Mitteldistanz im Duathlon anzugehen und in Alsdorf Gas zu geben!

Duathlon long distance world champion Merle Brunnée will compete at the POWERMAN Alsdorf on 10 April 2022. Merle wrote us the following words: 

I am Merle, a doctor at the University Hospital in Heidelberg and I have discovered running and cycling for myself and pursued the sport more and more ambitiously over the last few years. At first, I got a taste of competition from time to time in pure city runs, then I joined a (running) club, shortly afterwards I bought a racing bike, joined a triathlon and a cycling club, applied for racing licences and quickly realised: this is great fun! I have collected my kilometres in the Odenwald around my adopted home Heidelberg, but also in the Pyrenees, in the Swiss Alps and also virtually on Zwift. The first triathlons came along and then in 2020 my first individual time trial and my first Powerman - the Long Distance World Championships in Zofingen in September. This day will remain unforgettable for me and I can proudly call myself long-distance duathlon world champion 2020. I'm looking forward to tackling my first middle distance in duathlon now and to step on the gas in Alsdorf!
