With the current COVID-19 situation in mind, and to maintain the highest level for a world championship, the organizers, Triathlon Denmark, the International Triathlon Union, Viborg Municipality and the partners of the race, have taken the difficult decision to move the event to 3rd of October 2020. The original date of the event was 16th of May.

March, April, and May serve for several countries as a time of qualifying events for the continental and international championships.
With a global situation that does not stage major sporting events in March and April, the athletes are thus deprived of the opportunity to earn their spots on the starting line of the World Championships. Therefore, we have taken the decision to postpone the event to give our athletes the best possible conditions, as well as the optimal training up to.

We have informed the athletes and federations and will continue to keep them updated as the planning proceeds. There are now several tasks presented to the individual federations, partners, athletes and the local event organizers.
Of course, we regret the inconvenience and extra work caused by the change.
At the same time, we are looking forward to welcoming you to Viborg on 3rd of October 2020.
